About the event
The Fort Worth Film Club is in the mood for a double dose of love in February. This month, we are hosting a double feature of Sophia Coppola's Lost in Translation and Spike Jonze's Her. Two beautiful, atmospheric films speaking to lonliness, loss, and love.
The screenings are on February 15th at the Stage West Theater. Lost in Translation starts at 6:00 PM and Her starts at 7:45. We hope you will stick around for a moderated discussion after both films.
Lost in Translation Synopsis: A lonely, aging movie star named Bob Harris and a conflicted newlywed, Charlotte, meet in Tokyo. Bob is there to film a Japanese whiskey commercial; Charlotte is accompanying her celebrity-photographer husband. Strangers in a foreign land, the two find escape, distraction and understanding amidst the bright Tokyo lights after a chance meeting in the quiet lull of the hotel bar. They form a bond that is as unlikely as it is heartfelt and meaningful.
Her Synopsis: In a near future, a lonely writer develops an unlikely relationship with an operating system designed to meet his every need.
